Qualifier for the North Wales Showing Championship

All Entries to be taken from 8.45 on day of show

ANIMAL PASSPORTS SHOULD BE AVAILABLE FOR INSPECTION

Equine Section Rules & Guidelines:

  • An approved riding hat must be worn at all times when mounted (includes fancy dress)
  • Age is as on day of the show
  • Equitation classes – judging is to be based on the effectiveness of the rider, and classes may include a suitable jump at the discretion of the judge.
  • Large classes will be split at the discretion of the judge using any criteria he/she thinks fit.
  • Riders aged 8yrs and under – Competent riders aged 8 or under may enter un-aided classes, but may NOT then enter the equivalent lead rein class.
  • Horse & Pony Owners are reminded that they are responsible for the actions of their animals and should hold appropriate insurance

The committee reserves the right to ask for any animal to be removed from the show field of considered to be dangerous to others

Target Running Times

9:00 am Showing classes commence
9:30 am Clear round Jumping until 2:00 pm
10:30 am Show Jumping classes commence
3:30 pm Gymkhana & mounted games

  • Class 1 Tack & Turnout – Ridden
  • Class 2 In Hand Mountain & Moorland – includes Welsh
  • Class 3 In Hand Horse or Pony – Open
  • Class 4 In Hand Veteran – Horse or Pony aged 15 and over
  • Class 5 Young Handler – Handler aged 12 and under

IN HAND CHAMPIONSHIP
First Prize winners from Classes 2, 3 & 4 only

  • Class 6                 Ridden Veteran
  • Class 7                 Ridden Mountain & Moorland – includes Welsh
  • Class 8                 Best Riding Club Type Pony – 14.2hh and under (rider any age)             
  • Class 9                 Best Riding Club Type Horse – over 14.2hh (rider any age)
  • Class 10              Ridden Nervous or Novice
  • Class 11              Ridden family Horse or pony
  • Class 12              Equitation – Lead Rein (Rider aged 8 or under)
  • Class 13              Equitation – rider aged 11 and under

RIDDEN CHAMPIONSHIP
First prize winners from Classes 8 through 14

  • Class 14               Best Mane & Tail – In Hand or Ridden
  • Class 15                Horse or Pony Judge Would like to Take Home
  • Class 16                Fancy Dress – not commencing before 3pm

CLEAR ROUND Outdoor Menage at Tal-y-Garth 9.30am to 2pm

OPEN SHOWJUMPING (2 Phase*) – NOT AFFILIATED TO BSJA

Judge: TBC –  Rosettes to 6th place.
Show Jumping will be conducted ‘Two Phase’
*Two Phase jumping allows for the jump off to be run without interruption. The finish line for the 1st phase is the start line for the jump off (2nd phase). Competitors incurring a penalty in the 1st phase will be halted at the end of the 1st phase.

  • Class 17                                  Open – Jumps will not exceed 60cm     
  • Class 18                                  Open – Jumps will not exceed 70cm
  • Class 19                             Open – jumps will not exceed 80cm

RING TWO: commencing 10:00 am

Entry Fee £5 per class

WORKING HUNTER

Judge: Jayne Gardner –  Rosettes to 6th place.

  • Class 20                              12.2hh & Under – fences will not exceed 50cms
  • Class 21                              13.2hh & Under – fences will not exceed 60cms
  • Class 22                              14.2hh & Under – fences will not exceed 70cms
  • Class 23                              Horses over 14.2hh – fences not exceeding 80cms

WORKING HUNTER CHAMPIONSHIP
First prize winners from classes 20 through 23 – no fences


RING FOUR : HANDY HORSE / PONY follows Clear Round

Entry Fee £5 per class

Judge: TBC –  Rosettes to 6th place

  • Class 24 Handy Horse or Pony– can compete Ridden or In Hand

GYMKHANA / MOUNTED GAMES commencing approx 3:30 pm

Entry Fee £3 per class or £15 for all classes
