Preservation

This page is dedicated to preserving the Ceiriog Valley from all changes that would spoil its uniqueness.

A case in point is the scheme put forward in 1923 to turn its upper reaches into a reservoir.  Nowadays, the chief problem is the illegal intrusion by off-road motor vehicles onto pasture and moorland.  For example, this has caused much expensive damage along the Waywarer track that goes from the head of the Valley, over the hill to Llandrillo.
